DREW, Miss. — Participants in the Harvesting Hope Program recently visited Brighter Future Farms in Drew, Mississippi, for an educational experience focused on sustainable agriculture, community development, and the future of food systems in the Mississippi Delta.
The visit was hosted by farm owner Nicole Jackson, who provided a guided tour of Brighter Future Farms and shared the inspiring story behind the farm's establishment and growth. Participants learned about the importance of local agriculture, environmental stewardship, and innovative approaches to strengthening food access and economic opportunity in rural communities.
During the tour, Jackson also discussed her vision for the development of a future agroforestry center, an initiative designed to integrate agriculture, conservation, and education while creating new opportunities for community engagement and workforce development.
